B. Sc. Electronics is a UG degree programme offered by the University of Calicut, which provides students with a broad exposure to the latest electronic technologies. The syllabus of this programme is structured to equip the students with a comprehensive knowledge in Electronics. Our college has a well equipped laboratory for learning and experimenting with Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, Circuits, Analog and Digital Communication and Microwave and Optical Communication. The complementary/common courses like Python Programming, Programming in C, Introduction to DBMS etc are added attractions of this programme.

This programme is designed to equip 10+2 (Science group) students with the theory of Electronic Science and also to train them in acheiving technical expertise in Electronic Application. We attempt to develop well versed, communicative electronic graduates with skills in communication systems with corporate and social relevance towards sustainable development through quality education. Additional skill development labs are aimed to bring out their innovative ideas which helps to improve their career and for research programme.

A student of B. Sc. Electronics programme shall be able to apply knowledge of Mathematics, Science in the design, development and implementation of systems for electronics application. They will get proficiency in use of hardware and software tools to design and conduct elctronic experiments. They will be able to design elctronic system that conform to the environmental, societal, ethical and economic constraints.

B. Sc. Electronic graduates can do their specialisation in several areas like M. Sc. Electronics, M. Sc. Instrumentation Technology, M. Sc. Computer Science, MCA, MBA etc

A bachelor degree in Electronics opens up job prospects in both private and public sector as it is career originating in nature. They have an option to start their own business, such as manufacturing of electronic parts and components. Another option is to start electrical repair shop or assembly shop for repairing of television sets, recording equipments and amplifiers etc.

The students can easily avail job opportunities in several organizations such as Broadcasting, Entertainment, Research and Development, Data Communication, Private sector electronic manufactures. Electronics graduates have career opportunities in multinational companies like Intel, LG, Videocon, Samsung, Havells etc.
